Cllr Tim Smith

Tim represents the Normanton ward.

Tim has lived in Rutland with his wife for the past 13 years following his retirement from medicine, having worked as GP in Melton Mowbray for some 30 years. His interest in serving the community continued when he was elected to the North Luffenham Parish Council. It was here that he became increasingly aware of how much local issues mattered to residents and as a result initiated, the now submitted, North Luffenham Neighbourhood Plan.

Tim has taken a keen interest in the concerns of residents in Normanton including access to medical facilities, lack of public transport, employment, and leisure facilities, particularly for younger people.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys walking and cycling as well as water sports.
